Hand-built Restoration
Contemporary approaches for restoring creeks and wetlands rely heavily on construction materials hauled from a distant origin and diesel-powered machinery to transport and install them. These methods are expensive and they inflict new damage to landscapes intended for repair. Since our founding in 2008, RDE has endeavored to minimize the use of heavy equipment and to encourage construction methods that rely on human hands, human-scaled tools, and local materials.
